During Wander Meander I, a permanent performance in 2016, the artists Sarah&Charles immured a silver nail into the terrace of the house. By doing this the artists and the inhabitants of the house agreed to activate the nail every year for 20 years. The silver nail functions as the symbolic anchor of the house and is also the starting point of the performance.

Wander Meander II 2017

Ines Schweiger&Hendrik Tratsaert and Helen Simpson&Lieven Van den Abeele accept to activate the nail with a new interpretation. They also invite the artists Greet Dobbels and Jonas Vansteenkiste.

The art happening takes place at 10:45 on 10 12 2017.

Jonas Vansteenkiste, ‘Bruise’: is a series of adhesive strips in harmony with and as an answer to the achitecture of the house. The work takes the form of big physical bruises on human skin as well as, a second  interpretation, on the skin of the architecture.

Griet Dobbels ‘Straight Line Attempt (from the heart)’: an attempt, which will be in vain, to walk in a straight line from the house to the water tower, a landmark in the area. She tries to control and register reality and it keeps escaping her. ’The map is not the territory’.

Hendrik Tratsaert reads from ‘Walking outside’a philosophical guide by Frédéric Gros, and made a Wander Meander poem in which the house slippers of Ines Schweiger en Helen Simpson get a new meaning.

Lieven Van den Abeele takes up the challenge with the German philosopher Heidegger about ‘Building, Living, Thinking’. He draws the house as an organic organism and uses the text by Friederich Hölderlin ‘ Poetically man lives on this earth’.

Jan Wydooghe, Chef on the Move, takes care of catering.
