LUCA The School of Arts presents the Honorary Master to Julie Vandenbroucke, founder of Arteconomy, during the ‘Showcase 2019’ on Wednesday 16 10 2019 in the Cultural Centre C-Mine Genk for the following reason:
'Having artists create a 'place of exception' where talent unfolds and organisations innovate is what Julie Vandenbroucke does by connecting art, creative industries, science, technology, economy and education and without losing sight of the uniqueness of the arts.'
The artist Els Opsomer spoke the Laudatio, Jan Cools performed the interview with Julie and the director Dean Simon Van Damme presented the Honorary Master.
This is the 4th time LUCA has awarded an honorary master. Previous ones were: Jef Cornelies, VRT Producer, Paul B Preciado, curator of public programmes Documenta 14 and Paul Koek, dramaturge.
